Over sixteen years of editions of Toowoomba Chronicle newspapers were recently added to Trove newspapers, an extensive collection of digitised historical Australian newspapers. This addition was made possible through a collaboration between State Library of Queensland and National Library of Australia.
The new titles are:
- Toowoomba Chronicle (1917-1922)
- Toowoomba Chronicle and Darling Downs Gazette (1922-1933)
These newly released editions will compliment existing holdings for Toowoomba on Trove:
- Toowoomba Chronicle and Queensland Advertiser (1861-1875)
- Toowoomba Chronicle and Darling Downs General Advertiser (1875-1902)
Trove’s collection of digitised newspapers is a fantastic, fully-searchable resource for historians, family historians, school and university students and other researchers.
Trove currently includes over 100 Queensland newspapers from Brisbane and regional areas. A full list is available on the Trove website.
The next Queensland newspaper to be added to Trove is the Torres News, covering the years 1957 to 1989.
